My name is Karen Thomas. I’m a mother of two grown children and a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy.  I spent a part of my career living in Spain where I fell in love with mosaics. Seeing the ruins of 2000 year-old mosaics was awe-inspiring and inspirational.  I moved to Canada 24 years ago and began doing glass-on-glass mosaics a few years later.  I do mixed-media work; my main media being stained glass as I enjoy the challenge of utilizing color and light.  Today I have a studio/ gift shop located in Killam where I work on commissions, offer classes and have a gallery of my work.
